Our 2018 Apprenticeship scheme has now closed and will reopen in April 2019
If you've got a passion for cars or an interest in mechanics, our Apprenticeship Programme is one of the most tried and tested success stories within the motor industry. At National, we'll develop your aptitude for working with cars into a career. Many of our current managers started as Apprentices with the Company.
We're really proud to have scooped a number of major accolades at the prestigious Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) awards 2015 and 2016 – including best Fast Fit Apprentice of the year.
The 30 month programme is specifically designed by industry leaders for enthusiastic learners who want a fast route into the motor industry. During your time here, you'll receive a blend of residential and in branch training learning the skills and knowledge you'll need to build on your experience and gain a National Occupational Standard (Autocare Technician) Level 2.
We are an award winning provider of vocational training, with an excellent success rate. If you have the passion and drive to succeed, you could be working with all makes and models of cars, joining a close-knit team and getting the career you really deserve. Achieving at least 3 GCSE's including Maths and English would be a great advantage, however we do consider candidates who do not have these but have an absolute passion to work within the Fast Fit industry
The first week of the programme will be held at one of the National Tyres and Autocare Training Centres and will involve an induction to the programme, the company, health and safety and basic skills. Thereafter, you'll work alongside qualified technicians in our branches to gain experience and collect evidence of on-the-job training for inclusion in your portfolio.
Your Training & Development Officer will also visit you at your branch to offer you continued support to make sure you reach your potential. You will return regularly to your training centre as you develop your skills in tyre fitting, steering and suspension, brakes, IT, communication, numeracy, working with others, customer service and much more.
We work closely with tyre manufacturers to give you an extensive understanding of our core product, which normally includes a visit to a factory to see tyres manufactured.
If you're under 18, you'll work 39.5 hours, Tuesday – Saturday. Over 18? You'll work up to 45 hours per week.
